Case Study
The Baswell Hotel contacted us because their pillars had been knocked over by a delivery company and wanted to get them reinstated. When the pillar was knocked down the railings that were attached to both the pillar and the dwarf wall ended up pulling down most of the dwarf wall with it.
We were tasked with supplying new sandstone for the job which consisted of 20 polished pillar stones, Splayed and polished base stones, moulded pier caps and around 11.5 meters of half round polished copes. All of which was dressed in our workshop from Corsehill sandstone. We installed new foundations and then went on to build the pillars/dwarf wall making this opening to the hotel great again.
In the process we decided to slightly widen the entrance by moving the position of the left-hand pillar around 600mm to the left. We hope in doing so they won’t be knocked down again. Fingers crossed.
We loved carrying out this job from start to finish and are extremely proud of the end result.
