Our services
Turning windows into doors, slapping through stone walls to form new openings, and other alterations to existing stone buildings.
About this service
Altering a stone building – such as turning a window into a door, or slapping through a solid stone wall to form a new opening – is specialist work in its own right. It needs careful planning, temporary support and the right skills to leave a strong, neat finish that suits the original building.
We form new openings, widen or lower existing ones, and install new stone lintels, sills, jambs and rybats dressed to match the existing stonework, so the alteration looks as though it has always been there.
Where needed, we work alongside your architect, structural engineer and other trades to make sure everything is done properly and safely.

Our approach
01
Tell us about your project by phone, email or the enquiry form. Photos help.
02
We look at the stonework, talk through the options and explain clearly what we recommend.
03
You receive a clear estimate. Stone is dressed in our workshop ahead of work on site where needed.
04
Work is carried out to a high standard, and we leave the site clean and tidy.
